Here is another grid type puzzle. The shapes are identical in the two images above, but the second image actually has 9 less squares than the top one! Where did all those extra spaces go?

HINT: There is a similar puzzle on the site that explains what is happening in this type of optical illusion. But I feel that the effect is so strong, you may just want to believe it's magic. Remember, you'll have more fun not knowing how it's done! Just enjoy it!
